If you have any specialized training EMT, Fire, 1st Responder you already know what you can do.
If you do not (as I do not) the powers that be would rather not have you on the ground just yet. What they need is people who can operate without supervision.
You can always give to the Red Cross, or other outfits (MO Baptist Disaster Relief for example).
Our church will be working with our local and state connections to get to Joplin (ideally next week) to work alongside a local church in Joplin. As close as we are, it is likely that we will make a few trips.
That is all that I know for now. When I know more you will too. :)
If you are licensed or ordained to the ministry, one thing you can do is contact the MO Baptist Convention (www.mobaptist.org) about helping as a spiritual advisor. Some people have lost loved ones, all of their belongings, their places of employment or all of the above.
